Reasons for giving

  • Krishnendu Gupta and Simran Gupta

Arch Klumph Society Chair’s Circle, India

As a practicing obstetrician, gynecologist, and academician, Krishnendu is passionate about disease prevention and treatment, as well as maternal and child health, but protecting the environment has a very special place in his heart.

“I strongly believe that this is a critical area of concern, not only in the field of reproductive health but also in the very fabric of our existence,” he says. “We donate to The Rotary Foundation because of its proven track record addressing some of humanity's most pressing challenges. Our contributions enable Rotary members to continue this vital work and create lasting change.”

  • Manish and Varsha Mehta

Arch Klumph Society Trustees Circle, United States

“The Rotary Foundation is the most efficient and sustainable way to leave a lasting legacy for transforming the world,” says Manish, a proud second-generation Rotarian and engineer who has lived in India, East Africa, Singapore and the U.S. and organized numerous Rotary projects. “It’s my favorite charity. I know the money will be carefully allocated and applied directly to a cause-driven project with rigor, accountability and transparency.”

Giving to The Foundation has allowed Manish to honor and acknowledge those who guided, inspired, and mentored him, like his late wife, Varsha. “She was a clinician, faculty member, mentor, and researcher in pediatric and neonatal pharmacotherapy and infectious diseases. She helped improved health outcomes for mothers and newborns.”

  • Maurizio Mantovani and Luciana Stringhini

Arch Klumph Society Trustees Circle, Bequest Society Level 6, Italy

Maurizio and Luciana donated to The Rotary Foundation for the first time in 2012. “The joy we felt was so strong that we couldn't stop,” Maurizio says. “And we probably won't.”

“We are passionate about polio eradication, maternal and child health, and supporting peace,” Luciana says. “We believe that giving to The Foundation is the smartest way to give because nearly all of what we donate goes to support these incredible projects that change people's lives for the better.”

  • Valdemar L. Armesto and Neusa B. Armesto

Arch Klumph Society Chair's Circle, Brazil

Valdemar and Neusa’s shared enthusiasm for supporting basic education and literacy led them to become donors to Rotary. Even now after Valdemar’s passing, Neusa carries his passion for doing good in the world forward, supporting projects that increase literacy rates and empower learners of all ages.

With Rotary, “I trust our money is put to good use,” says Neusa. This faith in The Foundation’s stewardship ultimately led her and Valdemar to become Arch Klumph Society members, helping to create lasting positive change for communities across the world.

  • Huang-Chia Stephen Chang and Yu-Fen Yang

Arch Klumph Society Chair’s Circle, Taiwan

When Stephen and Yu-Fen became AKS members, they were honored, but they also felt a sense of responsibility. “Every contribution to The Rotary Foundation is a legacy of hope,” Yu-Fen says.

According to Stephen, they believe in the transformative power of Rotary. “We want to share the blessings we’ve received with others by supporting projects that empower communities, like education, disease prevention and treatment, and peace,” he says. “it’s also why we believe the Endowment Fund is so important — it ensures that Rotary’s impact will continue to benefit generations to come.”

  • Hans-Jürgen and Sabine Leuchs

Arch Klumph Society Trustees Circle, Germany

As Hans-Jürgen explains, The Rotary Foundation is like a marketplace, where two groups of people meet. “There are those who have ideas for solving their problems but lack resources, and there are those who are willing and able to help,” he explains. “The Foundation provides a structured framework for these two sides to work jointly towards sustainable solutions.”

According to Sabine, she and Hans-Jürgen particularly like that this can done across borders, building new friendships along the way. “This is why we enjoy donating to The Foundation!” she says.

  • Im-Sook Kim and Geon Park

Arch Klumph Society Chair's Circle, Korea

According to Im-Sook, helping others is a way to share your heart across borders and languages. “Giving to The Rotary Foundation has moved us in ways we never imagined, he says. “Rotary is about lighting small candles to make the world a warmer place. When those small lights come together, they become a great light, capable of illuminating someone’s life. We are grateful to be part of that journey.”

“We support The Foundation because we want our hearts to reach people in need,” Geon says. “We’ve witnessed how Rotary transforms lives and that experience has deepened our trust and affection for The Foundation.”

  • Cory Navarro and Paul Crewe

Arch Klumph Society Trustees Circle, Philippines

When Cory became a Rotarian 12 years ago, she participated in Friendship Exchanges in Canada and India. “Those experiences opened my heart and gave me clarity, direction, and purpose. I learned that life is more meaningful when lived for the greater good and for the greatest number,” she says.

It’s also what inspired Cory and Paul to contribute to The Rotary Foundation. “We believe that through Rotary, our shared generosity becomes a force that transforms communities and changes lives across the world.,” Paul says. “We know that every contribution to the Rotary Foundation is in good hands.”
