Whether helping to develop Rotary policy, providing financial support, managing a global staff, or advancing Rotary’s strategic plan, each member of the team is dedicated to helping our volunteers connect, communicate, and take action to create positive change.

President

Rotary’s president presides over the Board of Directors and is elected to a one-year term.

The Board of Directors establishes policy for Rotary International and provides guidance that helps our clubs thrive. Clubs elect the members of the board every year at the RI Convention with each director serving for two years.

Trustees

The board of trustees manages the business of the Foundation, the charitable arm of our organization that funds service activities. The RI president-elect nominates the trustees, who are elected by the RI Board to four-year terms.

General Secretary

Rotary’s general secretary and executive team oversee a staff of more than 800 who serve Rotarians from RI World Headquarters in Evanston, Illinois, USA, and seven international offices. The general secretary is a member of the RI Board of Directors and The Rotary Foundation Board of Trustees.

Coordinators & advisers

Rotary coordinators, regional Rotary Foundation coordinators, Rotary public image coordinators, and endowment/major gifts advisers help connect Rotarians with the resources and assistance they need to succeed. Coordinators and advisers are appointed by the RI president-elect or Rotary Foundation trustee chair-elect.
