Committees

Rotarians appointed to committees by the RI president help ensure clubs and districts perform efficiently. All committees promote the priorities and goals of Rotary’s strategic plan.

International Assembly Committee

This committee assists the president-elect in planning the International Assembly and ensures effective and consistent training of incoming governors.

This committee assists the president in planning the RI Convention.

This committee promotes attendance at the RI Convention.

Audit Committee

This committee reviews and reports to the Board on RI and Rotary Foundation financial reports, the external audit, system of internal control, internal audit, and other related matters.

Communications Committee

This committee guides and advises the Board on effective ways to communicate who Rotary is and what we do to Rotarians, clubs, and districts and to the general public. Rotary’s communication tools include printed publications, websites and social media, and multimedia materials.

Constitution and Bylaws Committee

This committee serves as counsel to the Board on all matters related to Rotary’s constitutional documents and legislative procedures.

Districting Committee

This committee reviews minimum standards for districts and recommends any needed adjustments of district boundaries to the Board.

Election Review Committee

This committee reviews cases involving complaints or disputes over an election to any RI office, such as charges of canvassing, campaigning, or electioneering, and any related matters.

Finance Committee

This committee advises the Board on all RI finances. It recommends the annual budget and five-year financial forecast, reviews financial statement activity, monitors revenues and expenses, recommends investment policies, and monitors the performance of investment managers.

Leadership Training Ad Hoc Committee

This committee guides and advises the Board on Rotary’s leadership training program for Rotarians, clubs, and districts, and especially training for district governors.

Membership Development and Retention Committee

This committee guides and advises the Board on membership development, retention, and education. It considers developing programs to recruit new members, educating and retaining new and existing members, and encouraging the formation of new Rotary clubs in countries that have clubs.

This committee advises the Board on matters related to Rotary’s fifth Avenue of Service, especially on meaningful ways to engage young people. The committee also guides and informs the Membership Development and Retention, Rotaract and Interact, Joint Committee on Alumni Relations, Rotary Youth Exchange, and RYLA Committees.

Operations Review Committee

This committee advises the Board by reviewing the effectiveness and efficiency of operations, administrative procedures, standards of conduct, and other operational and financial matters.

Reach Out to Africa Committee

This committee enhances Rotary in Africa in the areas of service projects development, partnerships with Rotary clubs and districts in other countries, use of RI and Rotary Foundation resources, involvement in Rotary programs, and membership growth.

Rotaract and Interact Committee

This committee advises the Board on the Rotaract and Interact programs. It reviews policies for promoting and strengthening cooperation, mentoring, and reverse mentoring between Rotarians and Rotaractors, as well as policies related to advancing Interact’s purpose of leadership development and service. Under the direction of the president, the committee plans and develops program content for the Rotaract Preconvention Meeting.

This committee guides and advises the Board on the Rotarian Action Groups program. It assists groups seeking official Rotarian Action Group status with the application process and considers requests for alternative funding models.

It reviews policies for incorporating the evaluation of outcomes and meaningful engagement with participants at the district level.
