Rotary, ONE Campaign collaborate to increase humanitarian service
Rotary International News -- 13 May 2011
Rotary International and the ONE Campaign, an advocacy organization dedicated to fighting extreme poverty and preventable disease, particularly in Africa, will work together to pursue mutual goals and increase humanitarian service.
Rotarians are encouraged to contact ONE chapters in their area to explore ways they might collaborate, such as by cohosting events, teaming up on service projects, speaking at each other’s meetings, and sharing stories, photos, and videos for publication. Rotarians are also asked to encourage Rotaract clubs to work with ONE chapters on college campuses.
Cofounded by singer Bono and backed by more than two million members, ONE works with world leaders to support proven, cost-effective ways to save lives and help people build sustainable futures. A key priority of the campaign is ensuring that children worldwide have access to basic vaccines. Learn more about ONE.
Letters announcing the collaboration were sent to district governors and ONE regional field directors.
