Mercy Ships Packaged Global Grants

M ercy Ships uses its state-of-the-art hospital ship, Africa Mercy, to deliver free, world-class health care, capacity building, and sustainable development to those without access in the developing world. Founded in 1978, the charity has performed services in more than 70 countries, directly affecting over 2 million people. The following packaged global grants, developed in conjunction with Mercy Ships, are available to Future Vision pilot districts only during 2012-13.

Vocational Training and Medical Service Team with Mercy Ships

Description:  Rotarians will assemble vocational training teams of medical professionals to perform or assist in life changing surgeries and provide skills training to local health care professionals.

Area of focus:  Disease prevention and treatment

Project countries:  Togo, Guinea

Award amount:  US$20,000-$50,000 per vocational training team (approximately four grants awarded per year)

How to apply (pilot districts only):

1. Read the Getting Started  document and the terms and conditions (pilot versions)  .

2. Complete the general team proposal (pilot version)  .

3. Complete the individual team member (pilot version)   form for each member (including the team leader).

4. Upload the general team proposal and the individual team member forms to the Future Vision pilot site in Member Access  at least 120 days before proposed departure date.
