U.S. Club and District Liability Insurance Program

Active U.S. Rotary clubs and districts are automatically provided with general liability ("GL") and directors & officers/employment practices liability ("D&O/EPL") insurance through the U.S. Rotary Club and District Liability Insurance Program ("Program").

Note: The Program does NOT provide coverage for bodily injury or property damage sustained by a first-party insured, such as a Rotarian or volunteer. All Rotarians and volunteers are expected to have their own personal health and property insurance.

Please read the 2011-12 Letter to Insured U.S. Rotary Clubs and Districts. Please review the General Liability Insurance Summary and Directors and Officers/Employment Practices Liability Insurance Summary, which provide an overview of insurance coverages included in the Program.

The Program provides coverage (subject to policy terms and conditions) for active U.S. Rotary clubs and districts (including Rotarians and volunteers in their roles as such for the club or district) for claims:

  • Arising out of bodily injury to a third party (a person who is not an insured under this program) or damage to a third party's property.
  • Made against club/district directors and officers that result from their activities, such as managing the financial affairs of and establishing policies for the organization.
  • Arising out of club/district employment practices, such as, sexual harassment, wrongful dismissal or termination of employment/membership, or violation of employment discrimination laws (including workplace harassment. Note: Club members are included in the policy definition of employee.
