Outstanding club and district achievements recognized at the 2012 RI Convention

At the closing plenary session of the 2012 RI Convention in Bangkok, Thailand, RI President Kalyan Banerjee recognized the Rotary clubs and districts that were the top performers in the 2011-12 Changemaker Award and Presidential Citation. A representative from each club and district was called on stage to receive the award.
2011-12 Changemaker Award
The Changemaker Award recognizes Rotary, Rotaract, and Interact clubs that make an extraordinary impact during through the Avenues of Service during the Rotary year. Nearly 4,000 Rotary clubs qualified for the 2011-12 award, as well as nearly 1,000 Rotaract clubs and more than 800 Interact clubs
Banerjee selected the following three clubs as the international Changemaker Award winners:
Best small Changemaker club (fewer than 25 members):
Rotary Club of Jimboomba, Queensland, Australia
Best medium-size Changemaker club (25-50 members):
Rotary Club of Basingstoke Deane, Hampshire, England
Best large Changemaker club (more than 50 members):
Rotary Club of Roseville, California, USA
2011-12 Presidential Citation for Clubs
Nearly 1,000 Rotary clubs achieved the requirements for the citation: a minimum net increase of one member and a minimum 85 percent retention rate, as well as US$100 per capita in Annual Fund contributions and 100 percent of club members giving personally to The Rotary Foundation’s Annual Fund.

2011-12 Presidential Citation for Districts
The Presidential Citation challenged districts to achieve the following:
- Attain either a minimum $100 per capita in Annual Fund contributions or 100 percent club participation in contributing to the Annual Fund.
- Organize at least one new club, have a minimum 85 percent retention rate in 75 percent of existing clubs, and decrease the number of clubs with fewer than 25 members by 5 percent.
