House of Friendship

R I conventions provide an ideal opportunity to meet and exchange ideas with Rotarians from around the world. Inside the House of Friendship, located in the Palais des congrès for the 2010 convention, thousands of Rotarians come daily to learn about new projects and how to become more involved with other Rotarians who share their interests or concerns. The House of Friendship has a special regional theme and décor and incorporates regional cuisine, relaxation areas, and local arts and crafts exhibitions.

Booth space

The House of Friendship at the RI Convention offers one-of-a-kind souvenirs; booths for club and district projects, Rotary Fellowships, Rotarian Action Groups, and RI licensed vendors; and a business expo featuring commercial and noncommercial exhibitors.

Booth applications for club and district projects, fellowships, and action groups will be available online in October and must be submitted to Rotary International by Friday, 29 January . Applicants will be asked to resubmit their application if the wrong form is submitted to Rotary International. Please direct any questions regarding booth applications to Kimberly Dunton Braam, shipping and exhibits supervisor, at 847-424-5238 or exhibitor@rotary.org .

RI-licensed vendor and business expo applications will be distributed by RI when contacted by eligible exhibitors; deadlines vary for each application. Find out more about how to apply for different types of booths:

Club and district project booths

The Club and District Projects Exhibition is an area within the House of Friendship that showcases exemplary projects so that interested Rotarians can emulate them in their own clubs or districts. Club and district projects must be in compliance with RI policy to be eligible for a booth. Fundraising and the sale of products or merchandise are not permitted from a club or district project booth.

Global Networking Group booths

Global Networking Groups, which encompass Rotary Fellowships and Rotarian Action Groups, are encouraged to arrange activities during the annual convention to reach out to fellow Rotarians and increase membership. Only approved Global Networking Groups may request a booth, and each group must be in compliance with RI policy.

Fellowship booths

The fellowship exhibits make up a vital part of the House of Friendship. Groups use this opportunity to celebrate their accomplishments, plan for the future, and recruit new members.

The general secretary must grant permission to sell fellowship-specific products from the awarded booth space. If permission is granted, the products sold must either carry the fellowship logo or be event specific; the product cannot include the Rotary Marks . Consistent with Board policy, the fellowship must ensure that revenue gained from such sales will only be used to promote the activities of the fellowship.

Rotarian Action Groups cannot sell merchandise from their awarded booth space.

RI-licensed vendors

Rotary International licensed vendors , or RI licensees, are businesses and Rotary entities licensed by RI to use the Rotary Marks in connection with the sale of merchandise. RI licensees may purchase booth space only from Rotary International. RI licensees, including Rotary entities (i.e., club and district projects) that are also RI licensees, must apply for booth space in the RI-licensed vendor area of the House of Friendship if they wish to sell or display goods at the convention.

RI licensee booth applications will be distributed to all qualifying vendors in January. For more information about becoming a Rotary International licensed vendor, please contact RI Licensing.

Business expo

Does your business offer products without the Rotary Marks that Rotarians from around the globe would enjoy? Does your nonprofit organization assist Rotary clubs in worldwide service projects?

If you answered yes to either of these questions, contact Rotary International at exhibits@rotary.org to learn more about the business expo opportunities at the 2010 RI Convention.

Space is limited. To be approved as an exhibitor, one or both of the following criteria must be met:

  • Previously exhibited at one or more RI Convention business expos
  • Offers programs, products, services, or merchandise of interest to Rotarians or Rotary clubs
