The music of Bitone
Bitone means talents in Luganda. On the Bitone Center for Disadvantaged Children's MySpace page, some of those talents are on display. Visitors can listen to tracks from an album recorded with a laptop and a microphone in the center's living room. CD sales help Bitone rent the equipment necessary to put on the performances that fund the center.
Pathways to Peru
"My advice to anyone going on a Rotary Group Study Exchange? Be ready to give up your life," advises Sarah Hale, who took part in a 2008 exchange to Peru from District 5960 (parts of Minnesota and Wisconsin, USA). Hale goes on to explain how she didn’t have to make any decisions -- including what to eat, when to sleep, or where to go -- for more than a month because her hosts took care of everything.
