The first Rotary International video magazine series was created in 1985. Rotary News Network was filmed with two professional co-anchors who reported stories from behind a news desk. A popular segment of the show was “Rotary in the Movies.” Hosted by a former RI staff member, it featured clips of Rotary mentions in Hollywood films such as The Bodyguard.

RVM: The Rotarian Video Magazine debuted in October 2005.Volume 1 includes stories about land mine victims in Bosnia-Herzegovina and Cambodia, the long-term needs of regions devastated by the 2004 tsunami, Cairo Rotarians working to enhance medical and educational systems in Egypt, and the ShelterBox disaster relief organization.

RVM showcases extraordinary Rotary projects and people from around the world. Produced three times a year, the DVDs feature three to four short video stories, from 5 to 15 minutes in length, designed to motivate, educate, and inspire. RVM is available in English with voiceovers in French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish.

Volume 5, issue 1, of RVM is scheduled for release soon and will feature stories about Sri Lankans building schools after the tsunami, French scholarships for young filmmakers, and a comprehensive project that revitalized a Brazilian community. Order single copies of any issue for US$15, or subscribe for $30 and receive a new DVD three times a year.
