It’s time to remember Rotaract and World Water Day

The Travel For Change Issue

World Rotaract Week is 12-18 March this year, and it commemorates the day the first Rotaract club was chartered by RI: 13 March 1968.

Check out a few things we learned about the service club for 18- to 30-year-olds:

  • There are 7,179 chartered Rotaract clubs around the world.
  • Of those clubs, 469 are in the United States.
  • India has 1,713 clubs – more than any other country or geographical area.
  • About 165,117 young people call themselves Rotaractors, or members of a Rotaract club.

22 March is World Water Day

Rotary clubs and districts worldwide will commemorate World Water Day on 22 March. Water is one of RI President Bill Boyd's emphases, and Rotarians are encouraged to honor World Water Day by initiating discussions or, better yet, water-related service projects.
