T he Rotary Foundation celebrated the induction of several new members into the Arch C. Klumph Society, which honors people who give US$250,000 or more to the Foundation.

Rafael Hechanova and his wife, Eumelia; Nam-Soo Park and his wife, Seong-Im Cho; Woo Hong Kim and his wife, Jeong Ja; Charles K. Campbell and his wife, Joyce M; Gerrit A. Terpstra and his wife, Carolee; and Len Gundersen and his wife, Arlyn were among the inductees honored on 27 October during a ceremony at RI World Headquarters in Evanston, Illinois, USA. Their portraits now hang in the Arch C. Klumph Gallery.

Hechanova

Rafael Hechanova, an architect and real estate developer, joined the Rotary Club of Makati, Rizal, Philippines, in 1967. He served as 1996-98 RI director and as governor of District 3830.

An accomplished basketball player, Hechanova was part of the Philippine national basketball team and was inducted into the Philippine Basketball Hall of Fame in 2000.

He and his wife, Eumelia, have been married for more than 50 years. They support the Foundation's Annual Programs Fund, PolioPlus, and the Permanent Fund.

Park

Nam-Soo Park, owner and president of Daedong Co. Ltd., an electric and construction company, joined the Rotary Club of Gwangju-Youmju, Gwangju, Korea, in 2000 and is governor of District 3710. He has also served as chair of the Association of Entrepreneurs in Jeonranam and vice president of the KBS Gwangju Broadcasting Audience Committee.

One of Park's favorite service projects involves delivering food to elderly people who live alone.

Park and his wife, Seong-Im Cho, support the Annual Programs Fund  and established the Nam-Soo Park Endowed Fund within the Permanent Fund.

Kim

Woo Hong Kim joined Rotary in 1973 and is a member of the Rotary Club of Daegu West, Daegu, Korea. He has served as club president and district governor. During his presidency, he brought in 41 new members, and as governor, he established five new clubs. His zone recognized his efforts by honoring him with a membership development award.

Kim is president of Hwasung Gas Company Ltd. and has served as manager of the Daegu branch of the Korea LP Gas Industry Association.

Kim and his wife, Jeong Ja, support the Annual Programs Fund nd PolioPlus.

Campbell

Ken Campbell is a member of the Rotary Club of Santa Fe, New Mexico, USA. He has served as club president and twice as assistant governor.

Campbell worked for Sunwest Bank for 35 years as an accountant and lender, serving as president of two of its branches. He presided over the San Juan College Foundation and the Santa Fe Community College Foundation.

He has been married to his wife, Joy, for more than 50 years. They support Matching Grants,  the Annual Programs Fund, PolioPlus, and the Permanent Fund.

Terpstra

Gerrit and Carolee Terpstra are members of the Rotary Club of Peoria North, Arizona, USA, and have each served as club president. Gerrit, a physician, has served as chair of the district Rotary Foundation committee. Carolee, a retired nurse practitioner, has served as chair of the District Simplified Grants committee. They have traveled to Guatemala and Mexico for international service projects.

Gerrit has served as president of the Arizona Geriatric Society and received a fellowship to be a clinical instructor in geriatrics at Sun Health. In 2006, his community recognized him as one of the leading doctors in the region.

The couple support Matching Grants, the Annual Programs Fund, PolioPlus, and the Permanent Fund.

Gundersen

Len Gundersen was posthumously honored by the Foundation. He joined the Rotary Club of Westchester (Los Angeles), California, USA, in 1967. He was club president and secretary and served on more than 40 district committees, 10 as chair.

Gundersen was a pilot in the U.S. Navy before he began a 38-year career at United Airlines. He retired in 1984. His community service projects focused on helping disadvantaged students. He served three terms on the campus council at the University of California, Los Angeles.

Gundersen and his wife, Arlyn, supported the Annual Programs Fund. Arlyn has funded the Len and Arlyn Gundersen Endowed Fund within the Permanent Fund.
