Rotarian on the street

As the 2008 International Assembly winds down, we asked incoming district governors to share their thoughts on the challenges given to them, how they plan to meet these challenges and have a successful year as district governor, and their overall impressions of the International Assembly.

"The polio challenge stood out to me. I very much look forward to working on it. But the discussions on the expansion of membership were very informative and important."

"You can never be prepared or appreciate the diversity of Rotary. The IA has changed my perspective on how international we really are. I love the theme, Make Dreams Real . The challenges are high, but it has lit a passion in us."

"I definitely liked that Rotary reminded us of the promise we made to eradicate polio. My major focus will be to help get more money to the Foundation for PolioPlus. That will also help fulfill the theme's emphasis."

"It was great that we had a renewal of our polio goal. It's about time we get it done."
