Areas of focus giving opportunities
The needs spanning Rotary's six areas of focus are vast, ranging from lack of access to clean water to the need for immunization that prevent deadly diseases.
W hat is your area of focus?
Contribute to the Annual Fund, and support an area that is important to you by directing your gift to an area of focus fund. Select from the six areas of focus:
- Peace and conflict prevention/resolution
- Disease prevention and treatment
- Water and sanitation
- Maternal and child health
- Basic education and literacy
- Economic and community development
Choose either a
one-time or a recurring contribution.
How this works within the Annual Fund
The Annual Fund-SHARE and Annual Fund-World Fund designations provide the Foundation with the greatest flexibility in addressing the world’s most urgent needs. The areas of focus funds, which are part of the Annual Fund, provide additional options for Rotarians, friends of Rotary and other organizations to direct their contribution to a more specific cause.
Annual Fund contributions directed to any of the six areas of focus are included toward a club's annual giving goal and per capita calculations. Likewise, these additional giving choices are eligible for all Annual Fund recognition opportunities ; including Every Rotarian, Every Year; Rotary Foundation Sustaining Member; Paul Harris Fellow; Paul Harris Society; Major Donor; and Arch C. Klumph Society. They also count toward all club recognition opportunities.
District designated funds
Areas of focus designated contributions are not included in a district’s SHARE calculation. Therefore, they do not generate any district designated funds (DDF). The Annual Fund SHARE contributions remain crucial because SHARE contributions are the primary source of funding for Foundation programs.
