 Past RI Director and Treasurer Bernardo Gomez Vega dies

Past RI Director Bernardo Gómez Vega, of Ciudad de México, México, died on 5 May. Funeral services were held on 6 May.

Bernardo joined the Rotary Club of the City of Mexico in 1964 and served as RI director in 1991-93 and RI treasurer in 1992-93. His service to RI began in 1981-82, when he was governor of District 4170.

A retired lawyer, Bernardo was general director of the law firm of Uhtoff, Gómez Vega and Uhtoff, S.C., and has served on the board of several firms, including Sandoz de México, La Baguette, and Jafra Cosmetics de México. He has represented more than 2,000 U.S. and European firms. He served as president of the International Association of Corporate Lawyers and of the Mexican group of the International Association of Industrial Property.
