R otaractors attending the 2008 RI Convention had an opportunity to put smiles on the faces of children at a special playground in Griffith Park, Los Angeles, built by Shane's Inspiration for children with disabilities.

T he International Society for Crippled Children, known today as Easter Seals, was founded by Rotarian Edgar F. "Daddy" Allen, who first presented the idea in 1919 to his Rotary club in Elyria, Ohio, USA. The society received The Rotary Foundation's first grant, made in 1929.

M ongolia, a land dominated by desert and mountain, is home to beautiful vistas and a diverse nomadic people. The RI film crew documented the country's beauty during filming of the Keep Mongolia Green project for an upcoming issue of RVM: The Rotarian Video Magazine .
