The Impact Center, one of Asia's largest convention centers, will be the main site for all plenary sessions, the House of Friendship, booth exhibits, and most RI-related official meetings. Located approximately 30 minutes from Bangkok's city center, the convention center offers modern ammenities such as the Royal Jubilee Ballroom, where special luncheon events will be held.

Breakout Sessions

On Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday afternoons, you'll have the opportunity to attend workshops on a variety of subjects. These 90-minute sessions will cover topics including membership, Future Vision, club and district leadership, public relations, and more. The overall program will feature the emphases of Family, Continuity, and Change, and provide you with ideas and inspiration that you can take back home, to help your club Reach Within to Embrace Humanity. Download a preliminary schedule of breakout sessions (PDF).

Unofficial affiliate events

Event registration deadline: 20 February 2012

Add to the fellowship of the convention by planning your own event. Unofficial affiliate events can include district and zone receptions, intercountry committee dinners, Global Networking Group meetings, and regional events.

The procedures form will give you an overview of the process. Your event can be held at a hotel (PDF) or the convention center (PDF). Global Networking Group chairs may use the meeting request form (PDF) to reserve space for their groups to hold an annual meeting.

RI luncheons

Purchase deadline: 1 March 2012

Break bread with colleagues from around the world at one of these special luncheons. You must be registered for the convention to attend RI luncheons. Although these luncheons are designed for specific audiences, they are open to all convention registrants. All prices are in U.S. dollars.

President's Recognition Luncheon

Celebrate the year's accomplishments with fellow leaders, including current RI officers, district governors, club presidents, RI committee members, and spouses.

President-elect's Leadership Luncheon

Meet incoming Rotary leaders, including incoming RI officers, district governors, club presidents, and spouses.  

Officers Reunion Luncheon
Wednesday, 9 May
$35
Meet current and past Rotary leaders, including incoming RI officers and spouses. 

Register online through Member Access  when you register for the convention. If you’ve already registered and would like to add or change an event, please contact RI Registration Services . After 1 March, any tickets available due to cancellations or visa denials can be purchased on-site in the registration area.

Host Organization Committee events

Events organized by the Host Organization Committee (HOC) give convention goers the opportunity to sample the best that Bangkok has to offer. A sampling of HOC events is below. For more visit the HOC website .

A boy and a TIGER

Bruce Gaston’s opera, a boy and a TIGER, will be performed by Thai children from all backgrounds, some of whom are orphaned, abused, and HIV-infected, as they share their vision of a world without prejudice. Under the baton of world–renowned conductor Somtow Sucharitkul, this talented cast brings Thailand’s first children’s opera to life. The English libretto is inspired by Yann Martel’s award-winning novel Life of Pi . RI shuttle service between RI’s room block hotels and the venue is available.

An opportunity to meet old and new friends and share the hospitality of the host Rotarians. Have dinner, watch cooking demonstrations, and enjoy cultural entertainment under the theme Kitchen of the World. RI shuttle service between RI’s room block hotels and the venue is available.

Dinner Dance ("Tuesday Night Fever")

Dance the night away at the prestigious and elegant Royal Navy Conference Hall. Enjoy high-quality music and fine local and international cuisine.
