With deep regret, we report the death of Bernardo Gómez Vega, Ciudad de México, Mexico, who served RI as treasurer in 1992-93 and director in 1991-93. In addition, we report the deaths of the following Rotarians, who served RI as district governors: Carlyle Rutledge, Kannapolis, N.C., USA, 1953-54; Aubrey B. Case, Sedalia, Mo., USA, 1974-75; Robert F. Cuthbertson, Rim Country-Payson, Ariz., USA, 1985-86; John J. Abbass, Sydney, N.S., Canada, 1989-90; Dana Swett, Presque Isle, Maine, USA, 1990-91; Eugene (Gino) Marrazzo, North Scranton, Pa., USA, 1995-96; and Shinichi Hara, Nagaoka Higashi, Japan, 2003-04.

At 9:27AM on 18 August 2008, Rudolf Otto wrote: You may not be aware yet of the sad loss suffered by Rotary in Austria, when PDG Mario Seiller-Tarbuk (1985/86 district 191, now 1910) passed away on July 9th after a prolonged illness. Mario was much more than an ordinary past district governor, he was the Rotarian conscience of Austria, the most reliable keeper of Rotarian ideas, principles and statutes in this country and cherished by all of us.
