Our YouTube pick of the month:

  • Interact Man strikes again

Mahita Penke, cinematographer for Interact District 5170, created this video of Interact Man for the Mission San Jose Interact Club of Fremont, California, USA, as part of the club's campaign to recruit new members. Participants in the video were officers of the club in 2006-07. In addition to being on YouTube, this video was part of a promotional package seen by clubs all over the district.

Blogs we like:

  • Hi, would you marry me?

Carlos Frum, District 6440 membership chair, compares courting new members with the dating process in a post on the district's blog. "Hi, would you like to marry me?" is as silly a question as "Hi, would you like to be a Rotarian?" yet some of us are still trying to court new members this way. There is a process, not unlike courtship or good salesmanship, that will secure an "I do!" from a candidate.

  • Three dimensional

Kwong Chiew Ee, president of the Rotaract Club of ATC in Malaysia, ponders the difficulty of trying to please everyone and make good decisions in a post in her blog, My Three Dimensions. She finds The Four-Way Test to be a good guide.
