Incoming RI Director Jean-Marc Chateigner dies

RI Director-elect Jean-Marc Chateigner
RI Director-elect Jean-Marc Chateigner, of Cholet, France, died on 11 June.
Chateigner, who was to take office on 1 July, joined the Rotary Club of Cholet in 1988. He served as club president in 1994-95. His service to Rotary International began in 2005-06, when he was governor of District 1510. He was chair of CODIFAM, an association of district governors from French-speaking countries, from 2007 to 2011 and has served as a president’s representative.
He served as district Rotary Foundation committee chair in 2009-10. He also chaired several district committees, including Rotary Peace Fellowships, Group Study Exchange, Permanent Fund, and RI Convention promotion. He was active in Group Study Exchange from 1997 to 2005.
Chateigner was chair and CEO of SATIP, a maker of precision metal products, posts he’d held since 1994. He was secretary of the Golf Club Cholet, president of the Tennis Club of Chalonnes, and director of UIMM, Anjou. He was also active in several other civic organizations.
He and his wife, Jocelyne, were Benefactors of The Rotary Foundation.
Chateigner is survived by his wife and two daughters, Tiphaine and Alienor. A funeral service will be held at the Notre Dame de Cholet in Cholet, France, Saturday, 16 June, at 10:00. Memorial contributions may be made to the PolioPlus Fund.
