Rotary International News -- 18 April 2012

RI General Secretary John Hewko participated on a panel on global health issues at the World Economic Forum in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Other members of the panel included Mexican Minister of Health Salomon Chertorivski Woldenberg, Inter-American Bank President Luis Moreno and Wolfgang Munar of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Hewko spoke about the critical role that Rotary has played in polio eradication and urged governments, particularly those of the G20, to increase funding for polio eradication so that the world can finally eradicate this terrible disease.
