Frank L. Mulholland, 1914-15 Rotary president.

Each month, we highlight Rotary’s history and share an inspirational quote from past Rotary leaders. December's quote:

“Service in the Rotarian sense is a mental process. It is an attitude of mind which relates persons and things with action. Thoughtfulness of others is in reality the basis of Rotary service.”

— Frank L. Mulholland, 1914-15 Rotary president, in The Rotarian , September 1927

Unless you have it in your mind and heart and unless you have that feeling to serve, you can not do it. It will be a cheque book charity. The basis of Rotary service is that one has to have the feeling, inclination to serve others.

Before joining Rotary I was imagining how to formulate proposals that can be funded and we help communities. But after joining I realised that even when the funds are not available yuo can still help communities without funding using the talents God gave us like hands. Managed to participate in Keep Nansana clean at no cost, but physically being there to be part of the team, Bravo Rotary. Has greatly improved on beating deadlines due the rotary scedules throughout the year.

Today I devote a good amount of time every day to help the community not just in my District but anywhere to do Matching Grant projects. I sincerely believe that only Rotarians can be the change that is needed in the world.
