Rotary Club of Québec meets in majestic chateau

The Rotary Club of Québec meets in the majestic Château Frontenac.
There are dreams that sometimes will not materialize. Despite of this fact, because we carry them in our souls, they guide and motivate us.
As 90th Québec Rotary club president, the oldest club in the region, I sometime imagine what all my predecessors would say, starting with the charter founder, Frank Carrel. Would he be proud to see that his determination to introduce the Rotarian spirit in Québec carries on, at the location where the first club meeting took place, in the majestic Château Frontenac? What would he say to see that weekly meetings are not conducted solely in English anymore and that after being the first bilingual club, RC Québec is now fulfilling its mission in French? What would he think to see women being active members of the club?
And what would say Rotary’s founder, Paul Harris, who came to visit us in 1934? Would he find in our club the spirit he envisioned in creating Rotary?
I think so. These men and women who acted as presidents of my club would be proud of their legacy. They would see that our club members share the same passion for commitment, friendship, and fellowship. They would see that we carry proudly this legacy through club projects and activities like Le Grand Village de Saint-Nicolas.
On Tuesdays, I meet with my fellow club members fully aware of our duty to keep this legacy alive. A legacy nourished by the extraordinary vitality displayed then and now by each member of the club.
