The National Assembly of Quebec welcomes Rotary

Rotary Canada -- July 2012
Last October, as part of the efforts to promote World Polio Day, fifteen Rotarians, including past district governors, governors elect, current governors, assistant governors, PolioPlus chairs, and club presidents, all members of Rotary clubs in the Quebec Province peacefully invaded the National Assembly.
At their entrance in the National Assembly Chamber, the Rotarians proud of their accomplishments and filled with emotions were thrilled to see that End Polio Now pins and pamphlets were placed on the desks of each of the 125 members of the National Assembly.
The Prime Minister set the example by wearing his pin with pride and soon, all ministers of state and members from all sides of the Assembly did the same. Within five minutes, 125 strange red End Polio Now pins were highly visible, a scene picked up by all media and caught on TV.
This memorable day for Rotary should however not let us forget than the work will not be complete until polio is fully eradicated worldwide.
