Past RI Treasurer Imrie-Brown dies


 
 

Douglas W. Imrie-Brown, who served as 1982-83 RI treasurer and 1979-80 president of Rotary International in Great Britain and Ireland (RIBI), died 4 February.

A Rotarian since 1954, Imrie-Brown, of Haverfordwest, Wales, was a member of the Rotary Club of Haverfordwest, Dyfed. In addition to serving as RI treasurer and RIBI president, he was an RI director in 1981-83, Rotary Foundation trustee in 1990-93, and district governor in 1974-75. He also served as RIBI vice president in 1978-79.

Imrie-Brown held other RI positions, including aide to the president and committee member and chair.

He was manager of the Clydesdale Bank Office at St. James's Piccadilly, London, and president of the London Centre of the Scottish Institute of Bankers. After retiring in 1975, he was a financial consultant and served on the boards of several national charities. Imrie-Brown was also a lawyer and a freeman and liveryman of the City of London.

He is survived by his wife, Lucy.

Funeral services will be held 12 February at 2:30 p.m. at Ebenezer Chapel, Parrots Road, Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire, SA61 2HD, Wales.
